The source of our resources

By Beena GeorgeAfter so many years I was passing along that highway again - a road I used to travel so often during my college days. I used to wait for a spectacular sight: parallel to the road, there was a huge river that flowed gently and majestically. On the other side there was a canal, carrying water to the distant rural land. Unlike other canals, this one was almost always flowing. I felt so happy for  the canal. It was the sole instrument of making an otherwise drought-prone land so…See More

Peace within and around you

Jerk ... jerk.. bump... bump. It was stiflingly hot. We were covered in dust and perspiration. My husband, two year old daughter and I were jostling around in a car, on our way to a remote village in Assam, India. We were going to evaluate a project focussing on peace and development among the tribals who had previously suffered ethnic violence. After hours of exhausting travel, we eventually reached the village. The car stopped and we surrounded by…

Keeping Focus

By Nigel Ring

Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

That’s such a challenging statement by Jesus. It’s so easy to lose focus on what’s most important, even vital. If you are like me, you can be quickly distracted from your main task. We are surrounded by distractions. These seem to grow daily as we are accosted by information technology and the demands of the world.

Personally I find the greatest…

Hi Lorentz. Thank you so much for kind words. Will it be bad form if I decline on the picture? I don't share any photos on Web and like the additional security/privacy as result. The last initial...the "P" in my initials for the blog stands for Penda, which I added for how I hope to feel most identified. Penda in Swahili means "loved." We all are a group of God's children...magnificently loved by our awesome God!

To the admin: Sorry to confuse folks. I joined under my work email address (barrett.horne[at]gov.yk.ca and then, in a complicated bit of confused haste, ended up 'rejoining' with my personal email address, barrett[at]onfoot.net. So long as I can remember which address to use when I log in, it probably does not matter and the second attempt to join can be removed from the system. (The onfoot address can be removed.)

Sorry for causing confusion!

Det fungerar ju bra att mejla ut från Ning.
Och jag gillar färgerna och utseendet här - förutom den bebisgröna bakgrunden, jag försöker testa en annan, om jag får!
